CHLORINE 65 is used to maintain swimming pool water in a clear and sanitized condition due to the fact that it is a strong oxidizer. A residual chlorine level of about 1ppm is necessary. A daily dose of 1.5 – 3ppm of available chlorine is enough to maintain this level.
How to use Chlorine 65 to treat swimming pool water
Dosage should be carried daily by premixing the granules in a Bucket and adding the solution into the pool, preferably in the evening as follows:
- By ensuring that the pH is between 7.2 and 7.6
- Add 25Gms of CHLORINE 65 per every 10m³ of pool volume every other day
- If pool water is not stabilized though is a fairly good condition, add 50gms CHLORINE 65per every 10m³ of the pool water every day
- When the pool has been filled with fresh water, add 75gms CHLORINE 65 per every 10m³ of the pool water.
- When the water is heavily contaminated or dirty, ’shock’ dose with 150gms of CHLORINE 65 per 10m³ of the pool water.
Note – it is not necessary to add chlorine when the measured residual chlorine level is above 1ppm. It is unsafe to use the pool when the residual chlorine level is above 3pmm.
